Joy the Baker’s Pear Crumble Coffee Cake

I’ve been stress baking and stress cooking over the last couple of weeks. This mostly involves making impractical things that are not meals and then going out for fried things/ summer rolls/ sushi when we don’t have real food. JTB’s Coffee Cake looks like it might be one of my next projects.

I think of myself as being bad at (making) cake — partly, I think, because I’m the freak of nature who doesn’t like cake. (I’m talking here about the general category of food called cake; there have, of course, been specific cakes that I’ve mightily enjoyed.) Maybe it’s time to learn to be better at cake.

Now do I have any volunteers to eat the experiments?
